Our Kitchen Table

Earlier I mentioned that the counter that extends from the stove, over the dishwasher over under the window will be our eating space. it will be made of wood from our barn and look more like an old farmhouse table, than just a counter top.

Something I didn't know was that barn wood, because of its age and all that it's been thru, stains differently than regular wood. Not to mention it was most likely different wood than the rest of the wood he will be using in the house, which also makes it look different.

Lisa sent me a couple of pictures of a piece of our barn wood, stained with the same stain as was used on the vanity and put them side by side.

hard to tell as the colors seem a bit off.

Here you see that it kind of picks up on the darker tones in the tile on the floor.

As you can see, it's really, really hard to tell how it looks. I told Lisa I will have to trust her taste on this one.
