Got the Bid

We heard back from Lisa on the price of the Silestone. Hold on to your knickers, they say the Silestone will cost $2800! Yeah, 2-8-0-0! Almost twice as much as the granite!

Another thing is that they are discontinuing the Santa Fe Silestone and just have a bit left - and they not willing to give a discount on it. Poo!

Our contractor also brought it to our attention that if we went for the laminate the way the countertop has to go around our big sink, we have to be sure there is a VERY good seal on the cut edge because of the high risk of the water soaking into the counter top - just like we are experiencing now. I pretty much knew that this would be a problem

With that in mind and although I really, really like the look, we are going to pass and go for the granite.
