Have a question for all you bloggers

I was wondering. When someone posts in my blog, I get a message that someone posted. Do they get a message if I respond? Am I supposed to get a message if I get a response to something I asked on their page? Because I'm not...and would like to...I post on so many and forget where I posted what... :o(
