Today is the day

Today everyone is showing up at our house :o)

The carpenter is done and they will be putting the kitchen together on Monday. Once that is finished they will start putting in the rest of the new windows.

Lisa also let me know she has the tile and stone samples to hold up to the soap stone to see what matches best.

I guess once all the kitchen the electrician will come to install the under cab lighting and then they will get the painter to paint the cabs and stain the front door.

Bam! Bam! Bam! That's what I call making progress!!

Aloha a Hui Hou!

So Much Behind the Scenes

Right now there is so much going on that will  have an impact on the house and us living there, but you won't really see it, like the electric.

When we bought the house the inspector told us we had a lot of ungrounded sockets that might be a fire hazard - That is being changed out. (no pictures of that yet).

In the kitchen, along the counter top, there were only 2 sockets, we are getting a few more of those.

New socket for the fridge, will have its own breaker,
 and extra counter top socket

That makes 2!

Three! Plus the switch for the pendent light over the sink.

Number 4 and 5!

Number 6, to the right of the stove.

Number 7, over the dish washer.

New socket for the stove.
Don't have a pic yet of the socket for the dishwasher or for the microwave yet. I think he is waiting for the new cabs over the stove/around the dishwasher to get the placement right. Oh! and they will each have their own breakers.

I know it is a lot of sockets, but they won't all be in use at the same time. It's good to have more and in different spots. You never know what your are going to do where!

Since we will be getting a table/ counter across the window, we will need light there, so he put in the wiring for two pendent lights.

Can't wait to get the lights in, which means I get to go SHOPPING! I have them picked out, just have to pick them up :o)

This is the transformer for the under cabinet lighting.

Since the themostat was where the bun baker is going, it had to be relocated and now has a new home to the right of the entrance to the kitchen.

Like I said, not as much impact as an all new bathroom, but we are so happy that it's getting done.
