Back to Eden

One of the blogs I follow, Homestead Revival, posted a link to a video called "Back to Eden".

This video tells about a gardening technique that requires, compared to others, very little work.

Basically you don't have to till the soil, you work on top of it. No matter what kind of soil you have, be it rock hard and dry or clay, it can be done. First you remove all thistles, put down a layer of newspaper, then a layer of wood chips and some manure. According to the man behind this concept, he doesn't even water his garden. Everything stays nice and moist and his yield is amazing!

I'm already thrilled with the square foot garden concept where you plant according to your needs, but I think of combining it with Back to Eden concept, I think it could turn our Never Rush Ranch into a slice of Eden.

Aloha Hui Hou!

  1. Really interesting. I like the way the family did it best, with all the layers on top of the news paper. Really good movie
